I have added a new gallery to the blog! The everyday women gallery features non-models who have commissioned gré to photograph their intimate or boudoir portrait sessions. At our studio it is a rule that when a client commissions us we do not share images unless the clients has stated that they are okay with images being shared…so enjoy!
So as a photographer one thing I can’t stand is when someone hires me for what I do and then doesn’t like the process…or as I say makes it so there are too many “cooks in the kitchen”. If you hire me trust that I have done this a thousand times and that what I deliver is going to be consistent with what you have seen.
This goes for more than just photography. When I hire someone and make the choice to have them work for me I am hiring them because I trust them. I firmly believe that when you hire a professional if decide you want to be a “cook” things probably are not going to turn out the way you hoped. Many people think that giving input helps the creative process, some team work is good…but too many opinions creates to many limitations. Sometimes you just got to go with the flow and let professionals be professionals.
That’s my rant for today….time to start cooking 😉
As a boudoir and fine art photographer I am consistently focusing on having the body tell a story…when in reality the eyes are really what say it all. With just one look you can tell what a person is saying. While body language obviously gives us some clues, if the eyes tell a different story, it’s eyes I’m going to believe. So with that here’s a recent shot of Sophie that says it all.
As a photograph I feel I’m always looking to challenge myself when it comes my stills. Lately my desire is to have more authentic movement in my stills. For some reason the control freak always deters from this because of a fear of imperfection…with the whole idea that imperfection sometime makes the image. This Tuesday I have a new shoot schedule and my goal is to shoot the stills the way I shoot video…we’ll see what happens.
For now here’s a still from one of my videos and video to go along with below!
