With a love for film & all things analog, Kelly’s photography career started many years ago in her father’s darkroom when she was exposed to photography at a very young age. A graduate of The University of California – Santa Barbara in Law & Society, photography was not her first career choice, but as time went by it became apparent it was the only career choice that made sense. After working for almost a decade in the social work field (as an Child Abuse Investigator & Juvenile Probation officer) & doing photography part time, she retired & made photography her full time Profession in the mid 2000’s.
The nickname “gré” came from her love of taking black & white photographs (her last name is “segré). A self proclaimed feminist, she Loves to create images of women in which a balance of control & vulnerability is achieved. Every women has something unique about them that makes them inherently sexy & beautiful. Since 1998 Kelly has won over 50 photographic awards, mostly for her portrait work, additionally her work has been shown in several art galleries throughout the United States. A gypsy at heart, Kelly drives across the country every year. She has a passion for vinyl records, art books, & film (she’ll watch just about anything, but her favorites are Roman Holiday & Funny Face).
