So today is election day, it also happens to be day 3 of our road trip. Right now we are in Arkansas on our way to The Mississippi Delta, where we will be playing and exploring. This part of country is magical in some way. It makes you slow down and just enjoy life. While I’m excited to take my camera and play, I’m more excited about the rich culture and life experience I will be taking with me.
It just so happens that my best friend from childhood has to be in Memphis on business today, so she will be meeting up with me later so we can enjoy a new place together. Those who know us well can tell you we really don’t have much in common, but our bond really comes out when exploring new & different places. She’s one of my only friends I know who would take a 50 mile or more detour just to see a weird landmark (that’s one thing we have in common….that and a fondness for bad 80s movies and music).
So here are a few facts about the trip so far…
Miles travelled: 1672
Current location: I-40 Arkansas
Cheapest Gas: $2.99, Oklahoma City
Sightings: Flat bed ford in Winslow, AZ
Smelliest State: Texas (lots of cows)
