So it is a new year, which normally I dread but I am going to take this opportunity to look at the past year and see how I can make 2010 better. 2009 was a rather rough year and I attribute it to me being some what lost in the direction I wanted to take with my photographic career. Professionally, overall 2009 was a successful year for me. I won a few accolades in an international print competition, had work displayed in a gallery in both Mississippi and New Orleans, and had the opportunity to be a discussion leader at a well known photography conference. Despite all the success I still crave a different type of success. I want this year to be about pushing boundaries and really showing the world and myself what I can do as a photographer. This year my main personal project is going to be “Femistry”, which explores the way women are perceived in modern day society. My first day of shooting was this past Monday January 4th, 2010. Below is a sneak peak of the PG version of some of the images (to see more you’ll have to contact me personally or check out my website in the near future for updates)….after all in this modern world of facebook and myspace if I want the world to see who and what I am I can’t show bare breast…god forbid someone sees a little nipple! The images posted below are the digital version and the polaroids, the shots I took with the 4 x 5 are still being processed. Feel free to give me input, privately or publically, as a little constructive criticism never hurt anyone!
